Australia is currently experiencing a lack of available skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled labour across many industries, throughout metropolitan and regional areas.
A number of factors have contributed to the declining labour market, which is affecting many of the country’s major sectors such as agriculture and mining.
In response to the shortage in labour resources, AREA Pty Ltd, in collaboration with state Technical and Further Education Centres (TAFEs), launched the International Student Program in an effort to increase the labour workforce in regional areas across the country.
The Program has been designed to attract international students to regional Australia by:
Offering the ability to gain permanent residency status in Australia by completing a relevant TAFE certificate(s)
Providing work opportunities to students to assist in supporting themselves whilst studying
Assisting with or providing accommodation needs while studying
