AREA provides employment in a range of broad and diverse industries, giving students great opportunities to work throughout their TAFE course. We endeavour to tailor work opportunities to students’ individual needs to ensure that all study obligations are met and that working arrangements adhere to Government legislation.
In some industries, work within regional Australia can fluctuate, following a pattern of seasonal highs and off-season lows. In order to optimise your earning prospects, TAFE programs are designed around seasonal peaks giving you the opportunity to work fulltime during these periods.
On arrival in Australia, commencement of work can vary depending on the seasonal requirements in that region. However, careful planning with regional TAFEs is undertaken to help ensure that course start-dates closely link with work requirements.
It is always our preference to find employment for students within the region they are studying. However, there may at times be opportunities to work in other regional areas, provided this employment does not conflict with study commitments.
On the completion of studies students can continue to work for AREA. Alternatively students may wish to register for our Permanent Placement Program. Further information in regard to our Permanent Placement Program can be supplied on request towards the end of your study term.
